Instructions
- Preheat Oven & Prepare Baking Sheet:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
- Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until well combined.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Add Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate small bowl, combine the baking soda and salt. Add the flour (optional for thicker cookies), and stir until the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Shape the Cookies:
- Use a tablespoon or a cookie scoop to form dough balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Roll them into smooth balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Use a fork to lightly press down on the dough balls in a criss-cross pattern to flatten them slightly.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown. The center will remain soft, but the cookies will firm up as they cool.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
