Description

Savory and spicy flatbreads or bagels topped with grilled chicken, chorizo, crispy halloumi cheese, and a drizzle of hot honey for a perfect balance of heat and sweetness.


Ingredients

  • 2 flatbreads or bagels, sliced in half
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, sliced or shredded
  • 1/2 cup chorizo, diced
  • 8 oz halloumi cheese, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (honey mixed with chili flakes)
  • 1/2 cup arugula or baby spinach
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced chorizo and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add halloumi slices and cook 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Lightly toast flatbreads or bagels under the broiler or in a toaster.
  4. In the skillet, warm the cooked chicken with minced garlic, salt, and pepper for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Assemble each flatbread or bagel half by layering arugula, chicken, chorizo, and halloumi.
  6. Drizzle generously with hot honey over the top.
  7. Serve immediately while warm for the best flavor.

  • Adjust the hot honey amount to your preferred spice level.
  • Substitute halloumi with mozzarella or feta if unavailable.
