Description

This delicious Chicken Yakitori features tender chicken skewers grilled to perfection and brushed with a sweet and savory yakitori sauce. Perfect for summer BBQs or as a flavorful appetizer, this dish is easy to prepare and sure to impress!


Ingredients

  • 2 small chicken breasts, skinless and boneless
  • 4 large green onions
  • 10 bamboo skewers
  • 2/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2/3 cup mirin
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • Oil for grilling

Instructions

  • Soak Skewers: Place bamboo skewers in cold water for 5 minutes.
  • Make Yakitori Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Cut Chicken and Green Onions: Cut chicken and green onions into 2-inch pieces.
  • Assemble Skewers: Thread chicken and green onions onto soaked skewers. Brush with yakitori sauce.
  • Grill: Grill skewers over medium heat for 5 minutes, turning regularly.
  • Serve: Remove skewers from heat and sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and mirin for 30 minutes before grilling.
