Description

Chili Crunch Garlic Bread takes classic garlic bread to the next level with a spicy and crunchy chili oil topping. The crispy, garlicky bread pairs perfectly with the savory, spicy, and slightly tangy flavor of the chili crunch, making this a must-try twist on a classic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Garlic Butter:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Chili Crunch:
  • 2 tablespoons chili oil (or more for extra spice)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
  • For the Bread:
  • 1 large loaf of French bread or baguette
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the garlic butter: In a bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Slice the French bread or baguette in half lengthwise, then spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Place the bread halves on the baking sheet, cut side up, and drizzle with a bit of olive oil on top for extra crispiness. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the butter has melted into the bread.
  5. While the bread is baking, prepare the chili crunch: In a small bowl, mix together the chili oil, sesame seeds, crushed red pepper flakes, soy sauce, and honey (if using). Stir until well combined.
  6. Once the garlic bread is out of the oven, drizzle the chili crunch mixture over the hot bread, making sure to coat it generously with the spicy, crunchy topping.
  7. Slice and serve immediately. Enjoy your spicy, garlicky, and crunchy bread!

Notes

  • You can adjust the spice level by adding more or less chili oil and red pepper flakes to your chili crunch mixture.
  • If you prefer a less intense garlic flavor, you can use roasted garlic instead of fresh minced garlic.
  • This chili crunch garlic bread pairs beautifully with pasta, soups, or just as a snack on its own.
  • For extra texture, try sprinkling some grated Parmesan cheese on top of the garlic butter before baking, and broil for the last 2 minutes for a golden, cheesy crust.
