Description

A rich and indulgent dessert featuring layers of fudgy brownies, creamy chocolate mousse, and whipped topping, beautifully assembled in a trifle dish for a show-stopping presentation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 batch of brownies (store-bought or homemade, about 9×13-inch pan)
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)
  • Chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the prepared brownies into small cubes and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside half for topping.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the melted chocolate and mix until well combined.
  4. Fold in half of the whipped cream and all of the whipped topping into the chocolate-cream cheese mixture to create the mousse.
  5. In a large trifle dish or individual glasses, layer half of the brownie cubes, followed by half of the mousse, then a layer of reserved whipped cream.
  6. Repeat the layers with remaining brownies, mousse, and top with whipped cream.
  7. Garnish with chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips if desired.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Make the brownies a day ahead for easier cutting and layering.
  • You can use dark chocolate chips for a richer mousse.
  • Trifle can be made 1 day in advance; store covered in the refrigerator.
