Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated for safety)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 200 g dark chocolate (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to make it safe for consumption. Let it cool completely.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the milk, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the heat-treated flour and mix until the dough is smooth. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  5. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and press the cookie dough mixture evenly into the pan. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave or over a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  7. Remove the chilled cookie dough from the pan and cut it into bars. Dip each bar into the melted chocolate, coating it evenly. Place the bars on a parchment-lined tray.
  8. Sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top before the coating sets, if desired.
  9. Chill the bars in the fridge for another 20 minutes until the chocolate is fully hardened. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

    • Heat-treating the flour is essential to eliminate any risk of contamination.
    • For a decorative touch, drizzle white chocolate over the bars after the dark chocolate coating hardens.
    • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
