Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- Mix the wet ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes). Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and add the vanilla extract.
- Combine the dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Add the chocolate chips and nuts: Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using).
- Scoop the dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake the cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is still soft.
- Cool the cookies: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
