Ingredients
Scale
For the Brownie Base:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional for extra richness)
For the Topping:
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
Instructions
- Make the Brownie Base:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips (if using) for extra richness.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
- Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
- Let the ganache cool for 5 minutes to thicken slightly before pouring over the cooled brownies.
- Assemble the Brownies:
- Once the brownies are completely cooled, pour the chocolate ganache over the brownies and spread it into an even layer.
- Decorate the top with fresh strawberry slices, arranging them evenly over the ganache.
- Chill and Serve:
- Let the brownies set in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until the ganache is firm.
- Cut into squares and serve chilled or at room temperature for a decadent treat!
Notes
- For a fun twist, drizzle extra melted chocolate over the strawberries before serving.
- You can use any type of berries for a different flavor, or add chopped nuts for added texture.
- The brownies can be made a day ahead and kept in the fridge for best results.
