For the Fudgy Cocoa Brownies:
- 1 ½ cups unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup cocoa powder
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
For the Oreo Cheesecake Filling:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold (or 2 cups Cool Whip, omit powdered sugar)
- ⅔ cup powdered sugar
- 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 3 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- 24 Oreos, crumbled
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Whipped Cream Layers:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold (or 4 cups Cool Whip, omit powdered sugar)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
For the Oreo Layer:
- 12 Oreos, broken
For the Chocolate Ganache:
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chips (¾ cup milk chocolate, ¾ cup semi-sweet)
- ⅓ to ½ cup heavy whipping cream
For the Top of the Trifle:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold (or 2 cups Cool Whip, omit powdered sugar)
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 12 Oreo cookies
- 2–3 Oreo cookies, crumbled
Instructions
- Make the Brownies:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely.
- Prepare the Oreo Cheesecake Filling:
- Beat the cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 3 tbsp of heavy cream. Mix until smooth.
- Gently fold in the crumbled Oreos.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then fold into the cream cheese mixture.
- Make the Whipped Cream Layers:
- Whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:
- Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until steaming but not boiling.
- Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
- Stir until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Assemble the Trifle:
- Cut the cooled brownies into small pieces.
- In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer the brownie pieces, Oreo cheesecake filling, whipped cream, broken Oreos, and chocolate ganache.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with whole Oreo cookies and crumbled Oreos.
- Chill and Serve:
- Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours, or until ready to serve, to allow the flavors to meld together.
Notes
- For a lighter dessert, you can substitute some of the heavy cream with Cool Whip.
- Adjust the sweetness by reducing the amount of powdered sugar according to your taste preference.
