Description

These Christmas Cookie Bars are a festive and delicious treat filled with red and green chocolate candies, white chocolate chips, and topped with colorful holiday sprinkles. They’re soft, chewy, and perfect for holiday gatherings, cookie exchanges, or just a fun treat to enjoy with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened 🧈
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar 🍚
  • ½ cup (100g) brown sugar 🍯
  • 2 large eggs 🥚🥚
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract 🍦
  • 2 ½ cups (310g) all-purpose flour 🌾
  • 1 tsp baking powder 🧁
  • ½ tsp baking soda 🧂
  • ½ tsp salt 🧂
  • 1 cup (180g) red and green chocolate candies (like M&Ms) 🍬
  • ½ cup (90g) white chocolate chips 🍫
  • ¼ cup (40g) holiday sprinkles 🎉

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  • Fold in candies and chocolate chips: Stir in the red and green chocolate candies, white chocolate chips, and half of the holiday sprinkles.
  • Press into the pan: Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan, pressing it down into an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining holiday sprinkles on top for extra festive flair.
  • Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  • Cool and cut: Allow the cookie bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Let the cookie bars cool completely before cutting to ensure they hold their shape.
  • The dough can be made in advance and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • If you prefer a chewier texture, underbake slightly, checking the bars at the 25-minute mark.
