    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • For the Sweet Glaze (Optional):
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 23 tablespoons milk
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • Extra Christmas sprinkles, for topping

Instructions

  • Preparing the Pan and Dry Ingredients:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Creaming the Butter and Sugar:
    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • Adding the Wet Ingredients:
    • Mix in the sour cream until smooth. Gradually add the milk, stirring until well combined.
  • Combining Wet and Dry Ingredients and Sprinkles:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
    • Gently fold in the Christmas-colored sprinkles until they’re evenly distributed.
  • Baking the Bread:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
    • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Making the Glaze (Optional):
    • While the bread is cooling, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency if necessary.
  • Glazing and Garnishing:
    • Once the bread is completely cool, drizzle the glaze evenly over the top and sprinkle with extra Christmas sprinkles.
