Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- Green food coloring
- Whipped cream, for topping
- Assorted sprinkles and candies, for decoration
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, and melted butter until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the green food coloring until the batter is evenly tinted.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.
- Pour the batter onto the skillet to form small circles, gradually adding smaller circles on top to form a tree shape as the batter cooks. Cook each pancake for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Stack the pancakes on a plate, starting with the largest at the bottom and tapering to the smallest at the top to form a Christmas tree.
- Top the pancakes with whipped cream, sprinkles, candies, and a dusting of powdered sugar to resemble a snow-covered tree. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of green food coloring based on your desired shade.
- Make sure to use a non-stick skillet for easy flipping.
