Description
Cilantro Jalapeno Dip is a creamy, spicy, and vibrant dip made with fresh cilantro, jalapenos, and a blend of creamy ingredients. It’s perfect for serving with chips, fresh veggies, or as a topping for tacos or grilled meats.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1–2 jalapenos, seeds removed and finely chopped (adjust based on your spice preference)
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1–2 tbsp water (optional, to adjust consistency)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, and chopped cilantro.
- Add the finely chopped jalapenos, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until everything is well combined.
- If the dip is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of water to reach your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more salt, pepper, or lime juice to your liking.
- Chill the dip in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for tacos, grilled chicken, or fish.
Notes
- If you prefer a milder dip, use only half of a jalapeno or remove the seeds before chopping.
- This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.
- For a dairy-free version, you can substitute the sour cream and mayonnaise with plant-based alternatives.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of chili powder or smoked paprika for a smokier taste.
