Description

Cilantro Jalapeno Dip is a creamy, spicy, and vibrant dip made with fresh cilantro, jalapenos, and a blend of creamy ingredients. It’s perfect for serving with chips, fresh veggies, or as a topping for tacos or grilled meats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 12 jalapenos, seeds removed and finely chopped (adjust based on your spice preference)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 tbsp water (optional, to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, and chopped cilantro.
  2. Add the finely chopped jalapenos, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until everything is well combined.
  3. If the dip is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of water to reach your desired consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more salt, pepper, or lime juice to your liking.
  5. Chill the dip in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for tacos, grilled chicken, or fish.

Notes

  • If you prefer a milder dip, use only half of a jalapeno or remove the seeds before chopping.
  • This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.
  • For a dairy-free version, you can substitute the sour cream and mayonnaise with plant-based alternatives.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of chili powder or smoked paprika for a smokier taste.
