Description

Cilantro Lime Honey Garlic Salmon baked in foil is a flavorful and easy-to-make dish featuring tender salmon fillets topped with a sweet and tangy cilantro lime honey garlic sauce. The foil packet method locks in moisture, creating a juicy and aromatic meal that’s perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 sheets of aluminum foil (large enough to wrap the salmon)
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, honey, lime juice, minced garlic, cilantro, cumin (if using), salt, and pepper.
  3. Place each salmon fillet on a sheet of aluminum foil, then drizzle the cilantro lime honey garlic sauce evenly over each piece.
  4. Fold the sides of the foil up around the salmon to create a sealed packet, ensuring the sauce stays inside while baking.
  5. Place the foil packets on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove the packets from the oven, and carefully open the foil (watch out for steam!).
  7. Serve the salmon with extra cilantro, lime wedges, and your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • For a slightly smoky flavor, try adding a pinch of smoked paprika to the sauce.
  • You can marinate the salmon in the cilantro lime honey garlic sauce for 30 minutes to an hour for even more flavor.
  • Serve with a side of rice, quinoa, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
  • If you prefer a crispy texture, open the foil packet for the last 2–3 minutes of baking.
