Description

These tender and sweet baked pears are infused with warm cinnamon and honey, making them a delightful dessert or healthy snack. Simple to prepare, they’re perfect for fall or any time you want a cozy treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe pears (such as Bosc or Anjou)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds) (optional)
  • Greek yogurt, whipped cream, or ice cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare Pears: Wash the pears and cut them in half lengthwise. Use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the core and seeds, creating a small cavity in each half.
  • Arrange in Baking Dish: Place the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish. If they wobble, trim a small slice off the rounded side to make them stable.
  • Make the Topping: In a small bowl, mix honey, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Drizzle the mixture over the pears, ensuring each half is evenly coated. Add a small piece of butter to the cavity of each pear if using.
  • Bake the Pears: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, or until the pears are tender and caramelized.
  • Add Nuts (Optional): If using chopped nuts, sprinkle them over the pears during the last 5 minutes of baking for a toasted crunch.
  • Serve: Allow the pears to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a dollop of Greek yogurt, whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

  • Use your favorite variety of pears, like Bosc or Anjou, for the best texture when baked.
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey based on your preference.
  • The optional butter adds extra richness, but it can be skipped for a lighter version.
  • Top with Greek yogurt for a healthier option, or whipped cream or ice cream for a more indulgent treat.
