- 2 cans (8-count) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
- 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)
- 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a 9ร13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Separate cinnamon rolls and flatten each one into a 3-inch round. Use half to cover the bottom of the dish, pressing to seal any gaps.
- In a bowl, mix apple pie filling with cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread half over the cinnamon roll layer.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg until smooth. Spread over apple filling layer.
- Top with remaining apple pie filling.
- Flatten remaining cinnamon rolls and arrange over the top to cover the filling.
- Bake for 35โ40 minutes, or until golden and set. Let cool for 10 minutes.
- Drizzle with reserved icing from cinnamon roll cans. Serve warm or chilled.
Notes
- For extra decadence, drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
- Use homemade or fresh apples sautรฉed in butter and cinnamon for a more natural version.
