Description

  • These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bites are a fun, bite-sized twist on two classic favorites. Soft cinnamon rolls turned into golden, crispy French toast bites – perfect for breakfast or brunch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8-count) refrigerated cinnamon rolls

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup milk

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 2 tablespoons butter, for frying

  • Maple syrup, for serving (optional)

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

  • Whipped cream, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cinnamon Rolls: Open the can of cinnamon rolls and separate the rolls. Cut each cinnamon roll into 4 bite-sized pieces.

  2. Make Egg Mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until fully combined.

  3. Coat Cinnamon Roll Bites: Dip each cinnamon roll piece into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.

  4. Fry: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the coated cinnamon roll bites and cook, turning occasionally, for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on all sides.

  5. Serve: Remove from the skillet and place on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess butter. Repeat with the remaining cinnamon roll pieces, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.

  6. Optional Toppings: Serve the cinnamon roll French toast bites with maple syrup, a dusting of powdered sugar, or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

  • Make It Extra Sweet: For an added touch, drizzle the icing from the cinnamon rolls on top of the bites once they’re done cooking.

  • Make It Dairy-Free: Use a dairy-free milk alternative and a dairy-free butter for a dairy-free version of this recipe.

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in a toaster or skillet for the best texture.
