Description

This soothing Cinnamon Sore Throat Tea is a natural remedy that combines the warmth of cinnamon with the healing power of honey and ginger to help ease throat discomfort. Perfect for those cold winter days or when you’re feeling under the weather. A comforting, anti-inflammatory, and soothing beverage to relieve sore throat symptoms and promote wellness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cinnamon stick (or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
  • 1 teaspoon honey (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 12 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional for added warmth)

Instructions

  1. Boil Water: In a small pot, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add Cinnamon: Once the water reaches a boil, add the cinnamon stick (or ground cinnamon) and reduce the heat. Let it simmer for 3-5 minutes to infuse the water with the cinnamon flavor.
  3. Add Ginger (Optional): If using fresh ginger, add the grated ginger to the water and let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  4. Strain: If you used a cinnamon stick, remove it from the tea. If you used ground cinnamon or ginger, strain the tea to remove any solids.
  5. Sweeten & Flavor: Stir in honey to taste, and add lemon juice if desired. For a bit more heat, you can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  6. Serve: Pour the tea into a cup and enjoy while warm.

Notes

  • Honey Substitute: If you prefer a vegan option, you can use maple syrup or agave nectar instead of honey.
  • Ginger Option: Fresh ginger is optional, but it can enhance the anti-inflammatory benefits of the tea.
  • Lemon: Adding lemon helps to soothe the throat and provides vitamin C, which can aid in fighting off infections.
