Ingredients
For the Donuts:
- All-purpose flour: 2 cups
- Baking powder: 1 1/2 tsp
- Salt: 1/2 tsp
- Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
- Unsalted butter: 1/4 cup, melted
- Whole milk: 3/4 cup
- Large egg: 1
- Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
- Oil for frying
For the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:
- Granulated sugar: 1 cup
- Ground cinnamon: 2 tbsp
For the Chocolate Drizzle:
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips: 1/2 cup
- Butter: 1 tbsp
- Milk: 2-3 tbsp
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to about 350°F (175°C). Roll the dough into small balls or round donut shapes. Carefully fry the donuts for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- While the donuts are still warm, roll them in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar until well coated.
- For the chocolate drizzle, melt the chocolate chips with butter and milk in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Drizzle the chocolate over the cinnamon-sugar donuts for an extra indulgent touch.
