Description

Classic Beef Rissoles are delicious, hearty patties made from ground beef and a mix of savory ingredients. Perfectly golden-brown and full of flavor, they make a comforting meal that pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (500g) ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce (ketchup)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, for frying

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into oval or round patties (rissoles).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add rissoles to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove rissoles from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot with mashed potatoes, vegetables, or salad.

Notes

  • Ensure the ground beef is not too lean to keep the rissoles juicy.
  • Let the rissoles rest for a minute before serving for better flavor integration.
