Description
Classic Beef Rissoles are delicious, hearty patties made from ground beef and a mix of savory ingredients. Perfectly golden-brown and full of flavor, they make a comforting meal that pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (500g) ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce (ketchup)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into oval or round patties (rissoles).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add rissoles to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove rissoles from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes, vegetables, or salad.
Notes
- Ensure the ground beef is not too lean to keep the rissoles juicy.
- Let the rissoles rest for a minute before serving for better flavor integration.
