Description

This Classic Fry Bread is a soft, delicious treat that’s perfect on its own or served with toppings! A staple in many cultures, it’s easy to make and incredibly versatile.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add warm water until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes until smooth. Divide into balls.
  • Flatten each ball into a disc about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry each disc until golden brown on both sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  • Drain on paper towels. Serve warm, with toppings if desired.

Notes

  • Fry bread is best served fresh but can be stored for a short time at room temperature.
  • Feel free to experiment with different toppings!
