Description

Cookie Puff Pastry is a light and flaky pastry that combines the richness of puff pastry with the sweet, delicious taste of cookies. It’s an easy-to-make treat that can be filled with chocolate chips, jam, or even sprinkled with cinnamon sugar for a delightful dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. If using frozen puff pastry, thaw it according to package instructions.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference.
  4. Brush the top of each pastry with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon (if using). Optionally, place a few chocolate chips in the center of each square for a chocolate-filled version.
  5. Fold each pastry square into a triangle or rectangle and press the edges gently to seal.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it over the tops of the pastries for a golden finish.
  7. Place the filled pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crisp.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

Notes

  • You can use fruit preserves, Nutella, or peanut butter as alternative fillings for a different twist.
  • For a fun variation, try adding chopped nuts or dried fruit to the pastry filling.
  • These puff pastries are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
