- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- If using frozen puff pastry, thaw it according to package instructions.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference.
- Brush the top of each pastry with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon (if using). Optionally, place a few chocolate chips in the center of each square for a chocolate-filled version.
- Fold each pastry square into a triangle or rectangle and press the edges gently to seal.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it over the tops of the pastries for a golden finish.
- Place the filled pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
