Description

These Cool Whip Cookies, also known as cake mix cookies, are light, fluffy, and made with just four ingredients! With no chilling required, theyโ€™re perfect for quick baking. Personalize them with your favorite candies for a colorful, crunchy treat that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 box (16.25 ounces) white cake mix (or any flavor you like)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/2 cups Cool Whip
  • 1 cup M&Mโ€™s, divided

Instructions

  • Prepare for Baking: Preheat your oven to 325ยฐF (165ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and place the powdered sugar in a shallow bowl. Set aside.
  • Mix the Dough: In a stand mixer (or with a hand mixer and large bowl), combine the cake mix, egg, and Cool Whip. Mix on medium speed for 3 to 5 minutes, until the batter becomes thick. If the batter seems too thick to scoop, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water, then mix again until incorporated.
  • Add the M&Mโ€™s: Remove the bowl from the mixer and gently fold 3/4 cup of M&Mโ€™s into the batter using a spatula.
  • Form the Cookies: Using a cookie scoop, scoop out the dough and roll each portion into a ball. Roll each cookie ball in the powdered sugar to coat it fully, then place it on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Decorate with M&Mโ€™s: Press a few of the remaining M&Mโ€™s on top of each cookie ball for extra decoration.
  • Bake the Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops of the cookies are cracked. If youโ€™re baking two sheets at once, rotate them halfway through the baking time for even cooking.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy these soft, sweet treats!

Notes

  • No chilling is required, making them quick to prepare.
  • Rolling in powdered sugar gives the cookies their signature crinkle look.
  • You can try different cake mix flavors like chocolate, lemon, or strawberry.
