Description

Crab & Cheese Filled Crescent Rolls are a simple yet indulgent appetizer that combines tender crab meat and gooey melted cheese, all wrapped in buttery, flaky crescent roll dough. These savory bites are sure to be a hit at your next gathering or as a delicious snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough (or 1 tube of crescent roll dough)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1/2 cup cooked crab meat (imitation crab works as well)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing, optional)

  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. Prepare the Filling:
In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard (if using), lemon juice, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until everything is well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
Unroll the crescent roll dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Separate the dough into individual triangles along the perforated lines.

  4. Fill the Crescent Rolls:
Place a generous spoonful of the crab and cheese mixture in the center of each crescent dough triangle. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and roll them up tightly, sealing the ends. You can also fold the dough into a pocket shape or a crescent shape, depending on your preference.

  5. Bake the Crescent Rolls:
Brush the tops of the filled crescent rolls with melted butter to add extra flavor and a golden finish. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed up.

  6. Serve:
Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm as an appetizer, snack, or side dish.

Notes

  • You can substitute the crab meat with cooked shrimp or even chicken if preferred.
  • Feel free to experiment with different cheeses, like mozzarella or cream cheese, for a creamy texture.

  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some chopped jalapeños to the filling.
