Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for extra flavor)
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (if using). Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown. Once cooked, remove from the skillet and set aside. Slice the chicken into thin strips once it cools slightly. - Cook the Pasta:
While the chicken is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions, until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water. - Make the Alfredo Sauce:
In the same skillet used to cook the chicken, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Add the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. - Add BBQ and Ranch:
Stir in the BBQ sauce and ranch dressing. Mix well until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors blend together. - Add Cheese:
Gradually stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce. Continue stirring until the sauce is velvety smooth and thickened. - Combine Pasta and Chicken:
Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. Add the sliced chicken on top and gently stir to combine everything together. - Serve:
Once everything is well mixed, serve the creamy chicken Alfredo on plates. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use any type of pasta you prefer, such as penne or rigatoni, if you don’t have fettuccine.
- For extra BBQ flavor, drizzle more BBQ sauce on top of the finished dish before serving.
- You can make this dish ahead and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Reheat on the stovetop with a splash of cream or broth to restore the creamy texture.
