- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives (optional)
Instructions
- Caramelize onions: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions, salt, pepper, and sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes until caramelized. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Combine: In a large bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
- Fold in onions: Add cooled onions to the mixture and mix well.
- Chill: Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped chives before serving.
