Ingredients
Scale
For the Shrimp:
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Shrimp:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season shrimp with salt and pepper.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Combine the Shrimp and Sauce:
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the creamy sauce.
- Simmer for another 2-3 minutes to heat the shrimp through and allow the sauce to thicken further.
- Serve:
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can substitute the heavy cream with half-and-half or milk, though the sauce may be less rich.
- Serve with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
- You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice for a little extra freshness.
