Description

A Creamy Horchata Latte blends the sweet, cinnamon-flavored horchata with rich espresso or coffee for a unique and delicious twist. It’s a perfect drink for coffee lovers who want a bit of extra sweetness and creaminess.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rice milk (or your preferred milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (or regular sugar to taste)
  • 1 shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 1/4 cup ice (for iced option)

  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Make the Horchata Milk:
In a small saucepan, combine the rice milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Warm the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it’s heated through (but not boiling). Add sweetened condensed milk to taste, and stir to combine.

  2. Brew Your Coffee:
Brew a shot of espresso or prepare 1/2 cup of strong coffee, depending on your preference.

  3. Combine the Horchata and Coffee:
Once the horchata milk mixture is heated, pour it into your favorite cup. Add the brewed espresso or strong coffee to the cup and stir gently to combine.

  4. Serve Hot or Iced:
For a hot latte, serve immediately and garnish with a dash of cinnamon on top. For an iced version, add ice to a glass, pour the horchata latte mixture over the ice, and stir well.

  5. Optional Toppings:
If desired, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for an extra indulgent treat.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sweetened condensed milk based on how sweet you like your drink. If you want a lighter version, you can use regular sugar or a sugar alternative.
  • You can make this a dairy-free version by using plant-based milk like almond milk or oat milk.

  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, you can add a pinch of ground nutmeg along with the cinnamon.
