- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Press the biscuit dough into the bottom of the dish and slightly up the sides to form a crust. Bake for 10 minutes until just lightly golden.
- While the crust is baking, cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain any grease, then add taco seasoning and water. Simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, half the cheddar cheese, and all of the Monterey Jack cheese. Set aside.
- Layer the pre-baked biscuit crust with the seasoned beef, then top with onion slices, diced bell pepper, diced tomato, and green chilies (if using).
- Spread the creamy cheese mixture evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over everything.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
- Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
