Description

Tender chicken breasts baked in a rich and creamy onion sauce, topped with golden, crunchy stuffing for a comforting and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of onion soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups prepared stuffing mix
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of onion soup, sour cream, and chicken broth.
  5. Place chicken breasts in a greased baking dish.
  6. Pour soup mixture over chicken and top with sautéed onions.
  7. Mix stuffing mix with melted butter and sprinkle evenly over the top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and stuffing is golden brown.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Use your favorite stuffing mix or homemade stuffing for added flavor.
  • For extra crunch, broil the casserole for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
