Description

These fun and spooky Creepy Crawly Cornbread spiders are perfect for adding a touch of Halloween magic to your dinner table. Made with blue cornmeal and shaped like little spiders, they offer a delightful twist on traditional cornbread.

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 425°F. Ensure your silicone mold is oven-safe.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, mix together the blue cornmeal, baking powder, and salt.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vegetable oil, and honey.
  • Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  • Prepare the Mold: Place a silicone spider mold (with eight 2-inch x 1.5-inch slots) onto a heavy sheet pan.
  • Fill the Molds: Pour the cornbread batter into the molds, filling almost to the top.
  • Bake: Place the sheet pan on the top rack of the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cornbread spiders are firm and slightly golden.
  • Cool and Serve: Allow the cornbread to cool before removing it from the mold. Serve alongside your favorite dishes for a fun Halloween twist!
