Description
A flavorful dish featuring crispy beef sirloin coated in a tangy and spicy sauce, complemented by sautéed bell peppers and garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
Ingredients
1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
2 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper. Coat the beef slices in the mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the coated beef slices until crispy and golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, remove excess oil, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
- Add bell peppers and stir-fry until tender.
- Return the crispy beef to the skillet, pour the sauce mixture over, and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the beef is well coated and heated through.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Serve immediately to keep the beef crispy.
- Adjust the sauce ingredients to taste if you prefer more sweetness or heat.
