Description
Crockpot Beef Tips are the ultimate comfort food—tender chunks of beef slow-cooked in a rich, savory gravy. Perfect for a busy day, this easy, hands-off recipe results in melt-in-your-mouth beef that pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs beef stew meat (cubed)
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional for extra depth)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons water (if thickening with cornstarch)
Instructions
- Prepare the Crockpot: Add the beef stew meat to the Crockpot.
- Mix the seasonings: Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix, brown gravy mix, and au jus gravy mix over the beef. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic to the pot.
- Add the liquids: Pour the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce (if using) over the beef mixture. Stir everything together to combine.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the beef is tender and cooked through.
- Thicken the gravy (optional): If you want a thicker gravy, mix the cornstarch with the water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Stir it into the Crockpot 30 minutes before serving, and let it cook until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency.
- Serve: Once the beef is tender and the gravy is thickened, serve the beef tips over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a tablespoon of tomato paste or a dash of hot sauce to the Crockpot.
- If you don’t want to thicken the gravy with cornstarch, you can also let it reduce slightly on the stove after cooking for a more concentrated flavor.
- You can make this recipe ahead of time and reheat it for a quick and easy meal.
