- 280g firm tofu
- 1/4 red onion
- 2 garlic cloves, grated
- 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1.5 tsp curry powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp nigella seeds
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
- 4 tbsp plain flour
- 1 tbsp oil for frying
- 2 tbsp Geeta’s Mango & Chilli Chutney
- Tomato slices
- 4 burger buns
- 2–4 tbsp raita
Instructions
- Prepare tofu: Blend the tofu until it resembles ground meat.
- Mix ingredients: In a bowl, combine the blended tofu with red onion, garlic, ginger, spices, nigella seeds, tomato puree, fresh coriander, and flour.
- Shape patties: Shape the mixture into 4 burger patties.
- Cook patties: Heat oil in a frying pan over low-medium heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and heated through.
- Assemble burgers: Spread raita on the burger buns, add the tofu patties, tomato slices, and a dollop of chutney.
Notes
- Adjust spice levels according to your preference by increasing or decreasing the chili powder.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute plain flour with gluten-free flour.
