Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher), chopped
  • 1 tbsp instant espresso powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds or walnuts
  • 1 tbsp coffee beans, coarsely crushed (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
  3. Stir in the instant espresso powder until fully dissolved.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment paper and spread it evenly to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  5. Sprinkle chopped nuts, crushed coffee beans (if using), and flaky sea salt evenly over the top.
  6. Let the bark set at room temperature until firm, or refrigerate for about 20 minutes.
  7. Once set, break the bark into pieces and store in an airtight container.
