Description

These delicious deep-fried strawberry cheesecake stuffed wonton bites combine crispy golden wrappers with a creamy, sweet strawberry cheesecake filling. Perfect for parties or as a delightful dessert, they are sure to impress!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup strawberry jam or preserves
  • Fresh strawberries, diced (optional, for extra strawberry flavor)

For the Wontons:

  • 2024 wonton wrappers
  • Water, for sealing the edges
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For Serving (Optional):

  • Whipped cream
  • Extra strawberry jam or sauce
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add a small dollop of strawberry jam in the center of each filling portion, or mix in diced strawberries for added texture and flavor.

Assemble the Wonton Bites:

  1. Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface.
  2. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake filling into the center of the wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle or envelope shape.
  4. Press firmly to seal and remove any air bubbles around the filling.
  5. Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.

Fry the Wonton Bites:

  1. In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry the wontons in batches, about 1-2 minutes per side, until they are golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  3. Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serve:

  1. Serve the wonton bites warm with whipped cream, extra strawberry jam or sauce for dipping, and fresh strawberry slices on the side.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can mix diced fresh strawberries into the filling.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before frying.
