Description

A classic Southern dessert featuring a rich, gooey chocolate and pecan filling baked in a flaky pie crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, melted butter, flour, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  3. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
  4. Pour mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  6. Allow pie to cool completely before slicing.
  7. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh pecans for the best flavor and crunch.
  • Check pie at 40 minutes to prevent overbaking.
  • Letting the pie cool fully helps the filling set properly.
