Ingredients
-
1 cup water
-
1/4 cup unsalted butter
-
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
2 large eggs
-
Vegetable oil (for frying)
-
1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
-
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Dough:
-
In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to melt the butter.
-
Once the mixture boils, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the flour and stir until the mixture forms a dough. Let the dough cool for 5-10 minutes.
-
-
Add the Eggs:
-
Once the dough has cooled slightly, add the eggs one at a time, stirring vigorously after each addition. The dough should become smooth and thick.
-
-
Heat the Oil:
-
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
-
-
Fry the Churro Bites:
-
Use a small spoon or a cookie scoop to carefully drop small spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil. Fry the churro bites in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
-
Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the churro bites from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
-
-
Coat with Cinnamon-Sugar:
-
In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
-
While the churro bites are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
-
-
Serve:
-
Serve the churro bites immediately with a side of chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping, if desired. Enjoy your homemade Disney churro bites!
-
Notes
-
For extra crispiness, you can double fry the churro bites by frying them once until lightly golden, letting them cool for a minute, then frying them again until golden brown and crispy.
-
You can make these churro bites ahead of time and reheat them in the oven for 5-7 minutes at 350°F (175°C) to restore some crispiness.
