Description

A cozy and flavorful treat reminiscent of the beloved Dollywood theme park, this cinnamon bread is perfect for breakfast or as a sweet snack. It features a warm, gooey texture with a delightful cinnamon-sugar topping and a creamy glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Bread:
    • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 pound frozen bread dough, thawed
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar (sprinkled on top)
    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • For the Glaze:
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pan: Spray a loaf pan lightly with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper. Lightly spray the inside of the parchment paper as well.
  • Thaw the Dough: Place your frozen bread dough loaf in the parchment-covered loaf pan and thaw according to the package instructions (usually between 4-7 hours).
  • Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a shallow dish, mix together the 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Cut Slits in Dough: Slice 5-6 horizontal slits across the top of the dough, about 1/2 the depth of the dough, to allow the bread to pull apart after baking.
  • Coat with Butter and Cinnamon Sugar: Melt the butter and generously brush it on the top and inside slits of the bread dough. Liberally sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture until completely coated.
  • Let Rise: Place the loaf pan in a warm place to rise for 30 minutes.
  • Bake: After rising, sprinkle the top of the dough with the remaining 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Make Glaze: While the bread is baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed.
  • Glaze and Serve: Allow the bread to cool slightly. Then, drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure the dough is fully thawed before baking for the best texture.
