Description

A bold and spicy double-layer smash burger loaded with creamy jalapeño popper flavors and topped with a cool ranch drizzle for the perfect balance of heat and creaminess.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted
  • 4 jalapeños, sliced and deseeded (optional for less heat)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles (optional toppings)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, crumbled bacon, and jalapeño slices to make the jalapeño popper filling.
  2. Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions and form loosely into balls.
  3. Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat and add butter or oil.
  4. Place two beef balls on the griddle and smash them flat using a spatula. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until edges are crispy, then flip.
  6. Immediately place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cook another 1-2 minutes until cheese melts.
  7. On the bottom bun, spread a generous layer of the jalapeño popper filling.
  8. Stack two cheeseburger patties on top of the filling, then add optional toppings like lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
  9. Drizzle ranch dressing over the top patty, then add the top bun to complete the burger.
  10. Repeat for the remaining burgers and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra heat, leave jalapeño seeds in or add hot sauce to the filling.
  • Use a cast iron skillet or griddle for the best crust on smash burgers.
  • Can be prepared ahead by mixing the jalapeño popper filling and storing it in the fridge.
