Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Dr. Pepper soda
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra richness)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan (9×9-inch or similar).
- In a medium saucepan, combine Dr. Pepper and melted butter. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture begins to bubble and reduce by about half (around 10 minutes).
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Slowly pour the reduced Dr. Pepper and butter mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, stirring until well combined.
- In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Stir in chocolate chips, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- These brownies are best served chilled or at room temperature for the ultimate fudgy texture.
- For an extra burst of Dr. Pepper flavor, you can drizzle some reduced soda over the top before serving.
- You can add nuts or marshmallows for variation if you like.
