Description
These simple, buttery drop cookies are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. With just a few ingredients, they’re quick to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: sprinkles, chocolate chips, or chopped nuts for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. If desired, top each cookie with sprinkles, chocolate chips, or chopped nuts.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- If you want crispier cookies, bake them a little longer until the edges are more browned.
- Feel free to customize with add-ins like cinnamon, cocoa powder, or dried fruit for a twist on the classic flavor.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
