Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: sprinkles, chocolate chips, or chopped nuts for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. If desired, top each cookie with sprinkles, chocolate chips, or chopped nuts.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
