Ingredients
Scale
- 4 8-inch flour tortillas
- Pizza sauce (your favorite store-bought brand)
- Pepperoni slices
- 4 mozzarella string cheese sticks
- Olive oil (or avocado oil)
Instructions
- Warm the Tortillas: Stack the 4 tortillas on a microwave-safe plate and cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave for 20 seconds until the tortillas are warm and more pliable. Alternatively, you can use a tortilla warmer.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and set the timer for 5 minutes. This ensures it’s ready to cook the roll-ups evenly.
- Prepare the String Cheese: Cut each mozzarella string cheese stick in half lengthwise to make them easier to fit inside the roll-ups.
- Assemble the Roll Ups: Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce evenly along the bottom of the tortilla. Add 5 slices of pepperoni on top of the sauce, then place one piece of the halved string cheese on top of the pepperoni. Roll up the tortilla tightly around the filling. Repeat with the remaining tortillas to make 4 roll-ups.
- Brush with Oil: Brush the top of each roll-up evenly with olive oil (or avocado oil) to help them crisp up nicely in the air fryer.
- Cook in the Air Fryer: Place the roll-ups seam-side down in the air fryer basket, making sure they’re not overcrowded. Cook at 375°F for 5 minutes, or until the roll-ups are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Carefully remove the roll-ups from the air fryer. Let them cool slightly before serving. These pizza roll-ups are perfect on their own or dipped in extra pizza sauce.
Notes
- Customize the Filling: Feel free to add extra toppings like mushrooms, olives, or even bell peppers to the roll-ups before rolling them up.
- Make it Vegetarian: Skip the pepperoni and use vegetables or other plant-based toppings if you prefer a vegetarian version.
- Air Fryer Variations: If you have a smaller air fryer, you may need to cook in batches to ensure the roll-ups cook evenly and get crispy on all sides.
- Store Leftovers: Store any leftover pizza roll-ups in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat them in the air fryer for a couple of minutes to maintain crispiness.
