Description

Tender beef and crisp broccoli tossed with noodles in a savory, slightly sweet sauce — a quick and satisfying one-pan Asian-inspired meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz noodles (lo mein, spaghetti, or rice noodles)
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and water. Add cornstarch if using. Set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, about 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining oil to the skillet. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds, then add broccoli. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until bright and tender-crisp.
  5. Return beef to the skillet. Add cooked noodles and pour in the sauce.
  6. Toss everything together and cook for another 2–3 minutes until heated through and sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Slice beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Substitute chicken or tofu for a variation.
  • Add red pepper flakes for spice or bell peppers for extra veggies.
