Description
Tender beef and crisp broccoli tossed with noodles in a savory, slightly sweet sauce — a quick and satisfying one-pan Asian-inspired meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz noodles (lo mein, spaghetti, or rice noodles)
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1/4 cup water
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and water. Add cornstarch if using. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, about 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining oil to the skillet. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds, then add broccoli. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until bright and tender-crisp.
- Return beef to the skillet. Add cooked noodles and pour in the sauce.
- Toss everything together and cook for another 2–3 minutes until heated through and sauce thickens slightly.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
- Slice beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
- Substitute chicken or tofu for a variation.
- Add red pepper flakes for spice or bell peppers for extra veggies.
