This Easy Bow Tie Pasta Lasagna is a fun, cheesy twist on traditional lasagna! Tender bow tie pasta is layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and lots of gooey mozzarella for a hearty, satisfying meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or cozy weekends!

- 12 oz bow tie (farfalle) pasta
- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread half of the pasta. Top with half the meat sauce and dollops of the ricotta mixture. Sprinkle with half the mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Substitute cottage cheese for ricotta if preferred.
- Add sautéed spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies.
- Use a mix of beef and sausage for extra flavor.
