Description

This Easy Bow Tie Pasta Lasagna is a fun, cheesy twist on traditional lasagna! Tender bow tie pasta is layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and lots of gooey mozzarella for a hearty, satisfying meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or cozy weekends!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bow tie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread half of the pasta. Top with half the meat sauce and dollops of the ricotta mixture. Sprinkle with half the mozzarella. Repeat layers.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Substitute cottage cheese for ricotta if preferred.
  • Add sautéed spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies.
  • Use a mix of beef and sausage for extra flavor.
