- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- 1/4 cup diced garlic (optional)
- 8 ounces halloumi, sliced into thin long strips
- 1/4 teaspoon dried mint
Instructions
- Heat pan: In a nonstick pan, heat oil or butter over medium heat until shimmery.
- Cook cheese: Add halloumi cheese to the pan and drizzle with lemon juice. Let the cheese brown on one side, then flip.
- Add garlic: (Optional) Add garlic to the pan.
- Sprinkle mint: Add dried mint to the pan over the cheese.
- Continue cooking: Flip the cheese 1-2 more times, lightly spooning garlic and mint over it.
- Serve: When the cheese is soft and golden brown on both sides (after about 6 minutes), remove from the pan and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the halloumi just before serving.
