Instructions
- Bake the Cupcakes:
Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners. Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions and fill the cupcake liners 2/3 full. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before decorating. - Make the Chocolate Frosting:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until light and fluffy. Sift the powdered sugar and cocoa powder into the bowl and mix on low speed. Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract until the frosting reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency. Once the frosting is smooth, increase the speed and beat for another minute until light and fluffy. - Decorate the Cupcakes:
Spread or pipe the chocolate frosting onto each cupcake, creating a smooth surface for decorating. Add two mini pretzels at the top of each cupcake for the reindeer’s antlers. Place a red M&M in the center for the nose (for Rudolph). Add two candy eyes just above the nose. Optional: For extra flair, you can scatter mini marshmallows around the base of the cupcakes for a snowy effect.
Notes
Storage: Store the cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
