- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup milk

Instructions
- Prepare the Apples:
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges. Set aside.
- Make the Batter:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add the vanilla extract and melted butter.
- Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk. Stir until just combined to form a smooth batter.
- Assemble the Cake:
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
- Arrange half of the apple slices on top of the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter over the apples and then top with the remaining apple slices.
- Bake the Cake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve and Enjoy!
- Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar before serving. Optionally, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- For a more decadent twist, you can add a handful of chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans into the batter.
