Description

  • Festive Crescent Rolls with Pesto are flaky, golden crescent rolls filled with aromatic pesto and melted cheese. These savory rolls make the perfect appetizer or side dish for any holiday meal or party. Simple to make, yet impressive enough to serve at your next gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (or your favorite brand)

  • 1/4 cup pesto sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for brushing)

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

  • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare the Dough:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

    • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Arrange the triangles on the baking sheet, ensuring they don’t overlap.

    2. Add the Filling:

    • Spread about 1 teaspoon of pesto sauce on each triangle of dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

    • Sprinkle a tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the pesto. Then, add a little grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.

    • If you’d like a bit of heat, sprinkle some red pepper flakes on top of the cheese.

    3. Roll the Crescent Rolls:

    • Starting from the wide end of each triangle, roll the dough tightly towards the pointed end, forming a crescent shape.

    • Arrange the filled crescent rolls on the baking sheet, spacing them evenly.

    4. Bake:

    • Brush the tops of the rolls with a little olive oil for a golden, crispy finish.

    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

    5. Serve:

    • Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve the Festive Crescent Rolls with Pesto warm as an appetizer or side dish.

Notes

  • You can make your own pesto sauce at home using fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese. If you’re using store-bought pesto, feel free to choose your favorite brand.

  • For added flavor, you can also sprinkle some garlic powder or Italian seasoning on top before baking.

  • These rolls can be served with marinara sauce or extra pesto for dipping.
