- ½ cup mini Easter candy (e.g., pastel M&Ms, jelly beans) (optional)
Instructions
-
Make the Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Prepare the white cake mix according to the package instructions, using the eggs, water, and vegetable oil.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake according to the instructions, usually around 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
-
Prepare the Poke Cake Filling:
- While the cake is cooling, dissolve the strawberry or raspberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
- Add ½ cup of cold water to the gelatin mixture and stir again.
-
Make the Poke Cake:
- Once the cake has cooled for 10 minutes, use the handle of a wooden spoon or a fork to poke holes all over the surface of the cake.
- Slowly pour the prepared gelatin mixture over the cake, ensuring it gets into all of the holes.
- Allow the cake to cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the gelatin to set.
-
Prepare the Topping:
- Once the cake has set, spread the whipped topping evenly over the top of the cake.
- Decorate with pastel-colored sprinkles and mini Easter candy (optional) for a festive touch.
-
Serve:
- Slice and serve chilled. Enjoy your colorful and delicious Festive Easter Poke Cake!
